Columbus is a fantastic city for shopping and what better way to end a shopping spree than with a bite to eat with your shopping companions! Columbus has all of the usual national chains and fast food restaurants, but also offers a wide selection of locally owned restaurants. This article serves as a mini guide to a few of the unique eateries that should not be missed.
The first stop is the 94th Aero Squadron. It has a World War I theme with aviation artifacts and memorabilia from the time period. They serve an array of American cuisine and on Thursday nights you can dance to the sounds of the Big Bands. The 94th Aero Squadron serves lunch Tuesdays thru Saturday with a Sunday Champagne brunch. They are open nightly for dinner.
Another fine dining experience serving American fare is Lindy’s. It is a high-energy restaurant with a New York bistro setting. They feature three dinning rooms, private party rooms, an outdoor terrace and a courtyard. Lindy’s has been voted one of Columbus’ “Top Ten” eateries 18 years in a row and has been featured in many national publications.
In the mood for something a little more exotic, then try Lemongrass. Located in the Short north area of Columbus, Lemongrass offers an eclectic selection of contemporary Thai cuisine. This little Asian bistro offers a piano player and influences from the Far East. They are open Monday thru Saturday for Dinner and Monday thru Friday for lunch.
If you are a beer connoisseur, then the Columbus Brewing Company Restaurant is the place for you. Columbus Brewing features a wide range of hand brewed flavorful beers. Try one or try them all. One things for sure, you are bound to find one that you’ll like. In addition to the many rich, full-bodied beers, Columbus Brewing offers a full menu of award winning foods.
If you are in the arena district, Black & Blue offers an exquisite dinning experience. They feature French-inspired cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, as well as a Bistro that offers innovative twists on traditional American fare prepared brasserie style, and a Bar that serves American regional dishes, French bistro classics, a great selection of wines by the glass, eight different quality crafted draft beers and a selection of creative cocktails.
